At this year’s 2013 SEMA show in Las Vegas, Ford stole the spotlight winning two out of four SEMA Awards for trending vehicle models thanks to SEMA Show Exhibitors. The SEMA Awards are broken up into four categories – Hottest Car, Hottest Sport Compact, Hottest Truck and Hottest 4x4 – SUV. Ford took home two out of four with the Mustang grabbing the Hottest Car and Ford F-Series winning the Hottest Truck title.
These vehicles were recognized by specialty-equipment manufacturers as the best platform to accessorize, and that showcase the year’s coolest products.
"The SEMA Show has always been the annual event where the newest and most innovative products are seen first," said Chris J. Kersting, SEMA president and CEO. "The SEMA Award celebrates the industry's unique ability to identify and set the trends that influence consumers worldwide."
Just this year over 2,400 exhibiting companies that manufacture thousands of products from performance and safety to cosmetic and comfort packed the convention center floor. While products are available for every make and model on the SEMA floor, exhibitors are investing more in the Ford Mustang and F-Series than any other vehicle (as well as the Scion FR-S, which was named Hottest Sport Compact and Jeep Wrangler for Hottest 4x4 SUV).
"Now in its fourth year, the SEMA Award helps guide consumers toward the hottest-trending and most accessory friendly vehicles on the market," added Kersting. "Our SEMA Show exhibitors are industry visionaries who determine the winners of the SEMA Award. The booth space is a ballot and the vehicles they choose to showcase in their booths are a vote. The most prominent models in each category are the winners."
