We Go To The Home Of Speed

 Mca Grand National Caravan

Lowe's Motor Speedway, formerly Charlotte Motor Speedway, will be the site for the Grand National hosted by the Carolina Regional Mustang Club and we plan to be there. The Grand National is the scene of so many cool events and neat cars that we never miss one. In fact, we've been to every Grand National with the exception of last year when we had to choose between it and the 25th Anniversary of the Mustang Club of America. Suffice it to say that the 25th, being a one-time event, won the nod.

This year it's a no brainer. After all, the track will be available and we hope to have the '90 LX project car there for some hot laps. To us, this is the best way to have a Mustang show-cars on the track and cool Ponies on the field.

Speaking of hot laps, this will be our final trail of our fifth year. It's hard to believe we've been doing this for five years already, but it's true. We'd like to go into the 25th Anniversary of Mustang Monthly with the last trail of the 24th being our biggest yet. We hope you'll come out in droves and make this happen. So let's make some memories.

Concord, North Carolina Mca Grand National
The Route:
We will leave out of the Lowe's Motor Speedway parking lot (marked with a sign) and head northeast on state road 49. We'll pass through Mount Pleasant and Richfield on our run through the scenic North Carolina countryside. At state road 109 we'll turn left onto 109 and head southeast through the Uwharrie National Forest and pass through Eldorado and Uwharrie on our way to Troy. At Troy we may stop for lunch, depending on the size of the town and the size of our group. From the rally point in Troy we'll head southwest on state road 109 through Wadeville to Mount Gilead. At Mount Gilead we turn right onto State Road 73 and head northwest to Albermarle. After a brief pit stop in Albermarle we continue on till we reach State Road 49 again, where we turn left and head back to the speedway for our final drivers meeting.

Coming soon:
Next year is the 25th Anniversary of Mustang Monthly. We're planning to do at least six trails in the anniversary year. So if you're interested in Mustang Monthly coming to your show, send us some compelling reasons now. We need these by the end of September at the latest for you to be eligible for a trail. It requires only two things: a show and a willing group of drivers. The show can be a one-day deal with at least 100 Mustangs minumum, or a three-day extravaganza with from 150 to infinitum Mustangs present. The shows can be anywhere inside the continuous 48 states and the edges of Canada. So get your club's heads together and impress us with your idea.
