For June, the Mustang Monthly Pony Trails is headed to Carlisle, Pennsylvania, for our annual trek to the All-Ford Nationals. Though the trail, which starts in Harrisburg, isn't one of our largest, it's certainly one of the most fun. The group that shows up for Carlisle always seems to have a ball and perseveres in spite of problems such as bad weather, cranky gas station owners (who called the cops after our group helped double his fuel sales), or road crews who can't find a better day to put down painted yellow stripes.
We can't wait to see the route our friend Barry Warfield cooked up for us this year. Last year's trail was amazing, except for the stupid striping truck. Hopefully, this year they'll be off on Friday.
We'll start at CJ Pony Parts and end up at the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum to close out our day. There's plenty of parking, and they anticipate having an awesome display of Mustangs for the 40th anniversary. Lunch will be available. However, as the old saying goes, there is no free lunch, so expect to pay $5 to $8. The museum is working on a discounted entry fee. An added benefit of tagging along with us is we'll get some "behind the scenes" tours and you'll be able to go into areas that John Q. Public can't.
As we say at the beginning of each trail, we are going to a specific location. If you choose to follow our route, you do so of your own free will. Should something befall you while on the trail, you are solely responsible for your actions and deeds. Mustang Monthly and Mustang & Fords are not responsible.

Trail DirectionsFrom the parking lot at CJ Pony Parts, turn right onto Rte. 22 and proceed east 5.3 miles to the intersection of Rte. 743. Turn left at the light and go 2.2 miles to the "T" at Mountain Rd. (Rte. 443). Turn right and go east on Rte. 443 5.2 miles where Rte. 443 turns left. Follow Rte. 443 east for 5.2 miles to a stop sign at the junction of Rte. 72. Turn left and proceed 2.1 miles; Gold Mine Road will intersect on the left. Turn left onto Gold Mine Road and follow it 7 miles to Rte. 325. Turn right onto Rte. 325 and go 1.4 miles to the junction of Rte. 209 in Tower City. Turn right onto Rte. 209 and head 9.3 miles through Tremont to the east side of the city. Make a sharp left onto Rte. 125 and go south 7.3 miles to Pine Grove. Upon entering Pine Grove, follow the signs for Rte. 501 carefully. There is a left turn that isn't readily apparent, but if you follow the signs you'll be OK. Go south on Rte. 501 until you cross I-78 and enter Bethel. Make a right to stay on Rte. 501. Continue south on Rte. 501 to the intersection of Rte. 897 in Schaefferstown. Turn left; almost immediately Rte. 897 bears to the right. Go straight ahead, which will put you on Rte. 419 headed to Cornwall. After passing through Cornwall and Quenton, you'll be at the intersection of Rte. 322. Turn right and proceed through Fontana and Campbelltown, 13 miles to the junction of Rte. 422. You'll go under an overpass, and Rte. 322 will exit to the right to join with Rte. 422. Go straight ahead and you'll be on Hershey Park Drive. Go 2.1 miles to the red light and junction of Rte. 39. In 1.3 miles, you'll see Museum Dr. and the AACA Museum on the left.
