Rather than take up lots of space with words, we'll let a photo essay tell the story of Mustangs Across America, a once-in-a-lifetime trek that played an important part in the nationwide celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Mustang.
The Mustangs Across America excursion was a 40th Anniversary tour that took place last April, beginning in the Los Angeles suburb of Ontario. With more than 300 cars registered for the trip, MAA caravanned across seven states to the Mustang Club of America's 40th Anniversary celebration in Nashville on the weekend of April 17, the date the Mustang was introduced in 1964.
Covered in the August issue, the 40th was a onetime show to end all shows, and we'll have to wait for the 45th or 50th to see another like it. We'll never forget our participation in Mustangs Across America. The journey was all the better because we kept up with the pack in an '04 Mustang GT coupe decked out in 40th Anniversary trim, graciously loaned to us by the folks at the Southern California Ford Public Affairs office.
