 Sema Show Las Vegas

After nearly 15 years of attending the Specialty Equipment Market Association's annual tradeshow in Las Vegas, the bumper crop of new goodies never fails to generate interest from us and thousands of others during the week-long, aftermarket-industry show every November.

With more than 10 miles of aisles to walk at SEMA, there's something for every automotive interest, but it's the Mustang parts that get our attention. With the new model well-established after its 2005 introduction, we never have trouble finding cool stuff to show you, including engine, exhaust, drivetrain, and suspension parts for vintage and late-model Mustangs. To avoid taking up more space better used for photos and descriptions, we'll get started right away.

Roush and the Rings
The Ring Brothers made another big Mustang restomod splash at the SEMA Show, this time in the Roush Performance booth. Jack Roush introduced the new Reactor '67 Mustang fastback, which uses a Roush 427 IR crate engine for ample power. Owned by Doug Hoppe, who commissioned the Ring Brothers to build the car as a contender for the '07 Good Guys Street Machine of the Year award. Among the myriad modifications, the most subtle make the biggest difference in the overall appearance, including changes such as splitting the rear window glass, removing the driprails and door handles, and adding hand-made carbon-fiber parts such as the decklid, hood, front fascia, front and rear bumpers, and taillight panel. Ford Racing Performance Parts
The big news at FRPP is the release of the new Boss 302 block (PN M-6010-BOSS302) that's loaded with features such as a 4.125-inch bore capacity inside a standard 8.2-inch deck height. Other highlights are splayed four-bolt mains on the 2, 3, and 4 main caps; revised oiling and cooling-system passageways; and Siamese bores with drilled coolant crossover tubes. There's also increased bulkhead material and threaded core plugs similar to the original Boss 302 blocks, as well as threads for 1/2-inch head bolts. All in all, it's a bulletproof foundation for engines up to 363 ci and outputs up to 1,000 hp. Ford Racing Performance Parts, 800/FORD-788 (800/367-3788); www.fordracingparts.com.

Magna Charger
The Magna Charger is a Roots-style blower for '05-'07 Mustang GTs. The blower is a fifth generation MP112 hybrid with an internal bypass valve. The included electronic programmer communicates with the factory Spanish Oak processor for correct calibration. Shift points, line pressures, and torque-converter strategies are optimized for increased power outputs on cars with automatic transmissions. The package includes a complete self-contained coolant circulation pump with a low-temperature radiator for air-to-fluid intercooler efficiency, factory-type push-lock connectors, a drive system integrated into the factory beltline, an OE-quality cast-aluminum intake manifold, aluminum fuel rails, and a 90mm mass air meter.
