The Mustang Challenge series made the Mustang 45th Anniversary Celebration a stop on the 2009 tour with a double-header at Barber Motorsports Park. Practice and qualifying took place all weekend with races on Saturday and Sunday. Ted Anthony Jr. won both events in the TC Motorsports Mustang.

One of the most photographed cars at the 45th was David Williams' '641/2 Indianapolis Pace Car hardtop, which was displayed with a motorized Indy Junior Pace Car, originally won in 1990 during a Ford-sponsored golf tournament. David gave it to his daughter, Emily, as a birthday gift.
