Cobra On The Island
I am the owner of a '98 Mustang Cobra. I am also in the military and was just recently transferred to Hawaii. As you may know, this is seemingly the center of the world for the import invasion, which I am really not a big fan of. With imports being so popular, I have had some trouble finding a place to do some work for me. I have a Kenny Brown suspension kit I need to get installed. Being as I don't have the time or resources to do it myself, I need to find a shop that can help. Do you know of any good shops out here, or could you put me in touch with someone who can help? Thanks for any assistance you can give.Sam CohenHonolulu, Hawaii

Word of mouth is the best way to find out about a good performance shop. I'd imagine there's also some sort of Mustang club in the Honolulu area, which would be a great way to interact with other enthusiasts. Check with the Mustang Club of America (770/477-1965, www.mustang.org)-they might have some leads to help you find out about any clubs out there on the islands. Also check with any local Ford dealers in Honolulu about club info-of those, maybe one of them is an SVT dealer. Since you own a Cobra, that might be a good resource. At dealerships, there are also often Mustang enthusiasts who work in the service and/or sales departments. Someone like that might be a good place to start.

As far as your Kenny Brown kit, you might try calling Kenny Brown to see if they know of any shop in your area they'd be willing to recommend. And don't worry too much about those pesky imports-I'd surmise you have about 95 percent of them covered with a strong-running '98 Cobra.

V6 Information Overload
I've read that many of your readers in this column are looking for ways to wake up their '94-and-newer V-6 Mustangs. Of course, the Internet is an endless resource and I've done lots of looking for Web sites that promote and detail V-6 Mustang modification and performance. Here's a list of what I have found to be the best V-6 Mustang Web sites that might be of interest to your readers:www.extremev6racing.com

This site has great tech info as well as information on just about every modification out there for the V-6 Mustang. You will also find timeslips, racing tips, links and sponsors. There is also a small message board on this site.www.v6power.net

This site is a little out of date, but it has a good messageboard. V6 power is also home to the timeslips page which shows the fastest V-6 Mustangs in the nation.www.3.8mustang.com

This site has some tech info and also has a good message boardwww.supersixmotorsports.com

This site has little traffic but it's a great site to order performance parts for V-6 Mustangs.Dan HagaVia the Internet

Thanks for leads to these informative sites. Enthusiasm for V-6 performance really seems to be taking hold. It'll be interesting to see where it goes.

Reluctant to Make the Switch
I have an '88 Mustang 5.0 LX coupe with an AOD and factory 3:27:1 gears. I've added a K&N air filter, bumped the timing to 14 degrees, and I run synthetic oil. I've also added 151/48-inch unequal-length shorty headers and a 211/42-inch H pipe. The car runs strong and is lots of fun. My question is, what else can I do to my car without confusing the computer? I've heard it's easy to do on the speed-density cars. I plan to switch to 3:73 gears soon, but I would like to know what else I can do without having to switch to a mass-air system. Any help you could give me would be appreciated. Thanks for the great magazine and thanks for considering my question. David Reed Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada
