Our Turn AgainWe have had a Mustang club win this award the last couple of years. Let's do it again and not only will you win all that great stuff, you'll have the additional honor of having your mugs in the best Mustang magazine on this planet (in our humble opinion).
YO WinnerMike EppersonThis is one enthusiast who has no trouble finding where his love for Mustangs developed. After all, his parents currently own four, but Mike Epperson of Salt Lake City, Utah, is catching up. Mike has four and he's only 22 years old.
Mike is the latest winner in the YO Club sweepstakes. He will be receiving a Cluster Gauge Kit from JME Enterprises.
Mike's four cars include a pair of '66 Mustangs. The first is a C-code Alpine Green coupe, which was purchased as a shell in 1994. The price was $350 and a bench seat. Mike and his dad spent three years getting the car done, and it was first driven on the night of Mike's senior prom. "The time I spent with my dad working on this car make it the most meaningful,"Mike said. "I will never get rid of it. It is used primarily for pleasure cruises and club activities."
The remaining '66 is a Nightmist Blue convertible. "I decided I wanted a convertible as a gift to myself for my 21st birthday," Mike said. "Local searches only turned up rusty examples in my price range. An Internet search led to this rust-free car in Waco, Texas. I had to do some persuasion with the financial institution to lend me the money on the classic because they consider old vehicles a risk. However, my persistence paid off and my parents and I drove straight to Texas from Utah with a trailer and picked up my new Pony. It is my weekend/evening pleasure driver. I've added some Shelby and Cobra upgrades to the engine."
Mike is an active member of the Northern Utah Mustang owners Association and maintains an extensive collection of Mustang die-casts and memorabilia. He also owns an '85 LX coupe (which was rear-ended and its fate undetermined) and an '86 GT hatchback.
The Cluster Gauge kit Mike won from JME Enterprises is the perfect touch for the '65-'66 Mustangs. JME Enterprises completely reengineered the original '65-'66 Mustang gauge instrument bezel. Our bezel is machined out of T6061 billet aluminum on a CNC milling machine. It has been modeled and produced to exacting factory specifications. It is available as a complete unit or as a bare bezel without gauges. Visit the Web site at www.jmeenterprises to see the variety of items offered for the Mustang enthusiast.
