Saleen Enterprises was experiencing financial trouble as a result of the early '90s recession, resulting in a low production output of 17 cars for model year '92. After being built at a Cars & Concepts facility in St. Louis from the third quarter of 1990 through the end of 1991, production returned to the Saleen Performance Parts operation in Long Beach. Several equipment changes were made to the standard model, including a new 17-inch wheel design, the availability of Vortech superchargers, and a switch to Recaro seats. Although offered, no SCs were built in 1992. This blue supercharged '92 convertible belongs to Ted Smith.
