If you didn't swap cams, you can easily drop your distributor back in by lowering it into place and aligning the rotor with the mark you made. If you installed a cam as we did or the engine was accidentally rotated, you will need to locate top dead center on the No. 1 cylinder. Rotate the engine until the timing pointer is at zero on the damper and both the intake and exhaust valves are closed on the compression stroke of cylinder No. 1.
