On V-6 cars, these mounting provisions exist even though these cars don't come factory equipped with a rear bar. However, a GT-type suspension-package option on '06 V-6 Mustangs will likely mean that some will have a factory-equipped rear bar. |  16. With all the attaching...  16. The Hellwig instructions include all torque specs for the various-sized nuts and bolts for both front and rear bars. Note that we also used the outer holes on the ends of the bar. Should you desire more control from the bar, you can switch to the inner holes-the same way as with the front bar. |  19. With the bushings greased...  19. With the bushings greased and installed on the bar the same way as with the front bar, connect the rear bar, bushings, and U-plate to the hanger bracket on each side. |  20. Be sure the top bolt and washer are in place over the bracket above the shock, and the washer and bolt don't slip through the enlarged hole in the shock-mount bracket. Note also the thick washer between the bushing in the axle bracket and the antisway bar. If needed, install these to properly align the bar in relation to the axle brackets. |  21. Complete the installation...  21. Complete the installation by securely tightening the bolts, locknuts, and washers on the tops of the hanger brackets. These mounting provisions for the hanger brackets are in place on all S197 Mustangs, regardless of whether they're equipped with a rear bar. |
