With the engine out, this is a great time to clean and detail the engine compartment. Mustangs Plus, Scott Drake Enterprises, and The Eastwood Company provided us with everything necessary to get the job done. We used paint stripper in the engine compartment to remove the many layers of black paint. After that, a thorough sanding prepped the surfaces for Eastwood's Satin Black.

With the engine hoist connected, the engine mounts are disconnected for engine removal. It's easy to remove an old inline six because access hasn't been this good since the '73 Mustang. Jeff Audia and Dave Toth wrestle the six from its moorings.
