 Bellhousing selection is straightforward....  Bellhousing selection is straightforward. If you are going with a JMC Motorsports hydraulic clutch or a cable clutch from Ron Morris Performance, you will need a late-model ('79-'95) Mustang V-8 bellhousing. If you're sticking with the factory equalizer bar, you're going to need a vintage manual-transmission bellhousing and an adaptor plate available from California Pony Cars. Our Tremec T5 is wrestled...  Our Tremec T5 is wrestled into the bellhousing and checked for proper fit once seated.  Because our Tremec T5 is fitted...  Because our Tremec T5 is fitted with a Pro 5.0 shifter, we needed to alter the shifter opening in the floor. The best advice we can offer is to enlarge the opening with a grinder or power saw, but keep your cut inside the lip. Do not cut through the reinforcement plate or damage the nut plates. The Pro 5.0 shifter will fit inside the lip, and a stock T5 shifter will fit without cutting.  This is the T5's backup-light...  This is the T5's backup-light switch. You can use your Mustang's manual transmission backup-light harness to complete the connection. Just cut off the factory switch and connect the two wires to this switch with aftermarket eyelets or a late-model Mustang factory two-pin plug.  When we embarked on our six-to-eight...  When we embarked on our six-to-eight conversion, we wanted to examine as many transmission crossmembers as possible. From left to right are the Ron Morris Performance (lean and clean), the JBA Performance (perfect fit for a Mustang with a JBA exhaust system), and the time-proven crossmember from California Pony Cars (solid and dependable). Which crossmember you choose depends on fit and clearance issues. Not all of these will fit your application, but it's good to have a choice.  JMC Motorsports has a transmission...  JMC Motorsports has a transmission crossmember designed for the Tremec TKO transmissions. The rugged powdercoated design can handle just about anything you throw at it.  The T5 crossmember from California...  The T5 crossmember from California Pony Cars has been on the market the longest, dating back to the early '90s. It is a time-proven piece that fits most applications, although any installation can get tricky when we add custom exhaust systems and other accessories the crossmembers weren't designed for.
