As enthusiasts and restorers, we've learned a lot about how to make our vintage rides more enjoyable. Aside from the obvious-fuel injection, overdrive, more comfortable seats, outrageous instrumentation, modern sound systems, larger wheels and tires, throaty exhaust systems-there's also the not-so-obvious. From Quiet Ride Solutions comes AcoustiShield, a terrific sound-deadening package designed to make a night-and-day difference in cruising quality by shutting out unwanted road and driveline noise along with extremes of heat and cold.
We decided to install AcoustiShield on Project Reclaim from Mustangs Plus and The Restomod Shop. Quiet Ride Solutions drove over to The Restomod Shop from its nearby Stockton, California, factory and showed us how it is done before we began the interior installation on Project Reclaim. Installation is quite simple because AcoustiShield consists of pre-cut, ready-to-install aerospace material designed to keep noise, heat, and cold out while maintaining quiet along with a constant temperature inside. Another important ally in the war on noise, heat, and cold is Dynamat, which sticks to steel surfaces to dampen noise and vibration where it begins.
