Shelby Track Racer

Team Shelby's South Atlantic Region director Bob Zinzell is exploring the idea of putting together a Shelby Challenge Kit that would allow anyone to convert a '07-'08 Shelby GT into a weekend track car. After racing a '07 Miller Challenge FR500, Zinzell and his partner built their own Shelby GT track car primarily using parts from Shelby Performance Parts. Metro Ford in Miami sponsored the labor. "Our goal is a reasonably priced, safe, and reliable road course car that anyone can drive," said Zinzell. "Most importantly, it's a real Shelby."

Zinzell hopes to build several cars to use as a driving experience car at Homestead-Miami Speedway and eventually offer a kit.
