Classic Mustang Side Glass Installing The Trim
8 Install a new bulb, then mount the chrome cover and lens assembly. The red reflector goes to the rear of the door. You'll need to also order a courtesy light wiring harness with the lights to wire them into your Mustang. Repeat these last few steps for the opposite door and you're ready to continue.

Classic Mustang Side Glass Deluxe Interior Handle
9 Because we're installing the Deluxe interior into our hardtop, the interior door handle shafts need to be replaced as well. The Deluxe interior "pistol grip" handles require a longer shaft; therefore, the standard interior shafts won't work. Install these, your latch, and latch rods now (if removed), because it's much easier to adjust everything with the glass out. This goes for lock tumblers and outer door handles as well.

Classic Mustang Side Glass Regulator Stops
11 Our upper and lower regulator stops had been removed, since we replaced our complete door shells. You shouldn't have to touch these if you're simply replacing the regulator. If the rubber-dampening material is broken off, you can use Plasti-Dip (from Eastwood) to recoat the stop.

12 Install the equalizer arm bracket using the two nut and washer assemblies that originally secured it. This is an adjustment point, so don't completely tighten it yet. Lubricate the bracket and slide a window roller into the track, then snap the equalizer arm into the roller.

Classic Mustang Side Glass Dyanmat
13 We used several sheets of Eastwood's Dynamat Extreme sound absorption pads throughout our hardtop to cut down on road noise. One great place for these pads is inside the doors. They make the door sound better when closing and also improve the sound quality from door speakers.

Classic Mustang Side Glass Installing The Glass
14 To install the glass, make sure the upper glass stop isn't in place and that the rear glass run (and the vent-window frame if possible) are loosened to allow for extra movement. A helper makes this part of the job less stressful. Take your time and go slow.

16 Crank the window regulator and/or slide the window up and down until the equalizer arms are in the proper position, then push them into the new window rollers until they make a loud "click." At this point, you can snug down the basic adjustments, but save final adjustments for later.
