How To Install Halogen Tri-Bar Headlamps - Project Reclaim

A weak spot is '65-'66 headlight doors (also known as buckets). Because they were made of super-thin die-cast metal, they tend to break. When they do, they must be drilled and screwed from the inside. Otherwise, they won't stay in place.

...just enough to clear the fender pocket, then blows dust out with compressed air before reassembling the headlight.

Here, the headlight is installed along with parking light at six o'clock.

The headlight trim ring is installed next. Note we're using the rounded lip trim ring, which is a perfect fit. Squared-lip trim rings are too large for the tri-bar headlight.
