The Versailles disc brake is a simple affair. The fixed caliper is bolted to the axle flange. It’s not a floating caliper as we see with ’68-’73 Kelsey-Hayes front disc brakes. As a result, the fixed caliper imposes stress on the brake rotor—which can crack and fail. View Related Article
