How To Install Spark Plug Wire Loom Holders

The pedestals should be positioned nice and square as shown. Although we chose Top Mount with our JBA Performance 8mm ignition wires, the Vertical Mounts can provide a cleaner installation on some small-block Ford applications. It's a matter of personal preference which type you choose. Spark plug wire loom holders fasten to these pedestals.

Spark plug wire loom holders wrap around ignition leads 50/50 with two machine screws locking the halves together. Butn-Snap works the same way without screws.

Note this clean path from the distributor to the spark plugs. Ideally, your ignition wires will be spaced like this to prevent crossfire. Position them this way with Top Mount or vertically with Vertical Mount for close-in and tight fit.

You're not always going to get a clean transition. You will have some crossover depending on firing order.

Here, we have heavily insulated Live Wires from Performance Distributors. Again, it's a nice, clean fit with Smoothie Top Mounts in blue.

We like the fit and good looks of Made 4 You Smoothies with just about any ignition wire.

They look terrific against Live Wires.
