Mustang Project Vintage Mustang LED Headlight Install

Encased in the anodized aluminum housings are solid-state circuit board assemblies for shock and vibration resistance. The hard-coated polycarbonate lenses offer 30 times more impact strength than traditional glass.

Installation of the LED headlights is identical to headlight replacement. On '65-'66 Mustangs, start by removing the headlight bezels and retaining rings.

Pull the bulb away from the car and disconnect the plug to completely remove the headlight.

The plug on the Mustang Project LED headlight is attached to three wires. Connect it to the factory plug and tuck the wiring into the headlight bucket.

Slide the LED headlight into place and secure with the retaining ring.

The LED headlight protrudes slightly more than an original-style headlight and you can also see the 10 LEDs behind the lens. It all provides more of a modern look for vintage restomod Mustangs.

The LEDs provide a whiter light than factory-style glass-beam headlight bulbs.

With the "brights" on, all 10 of the LEDs light up.

With the headlights on "dim," just the top half of the LED headlight is lit.

The Mustang Project LED headlights offer whiter and brighter light on Merv Rego's '65 K-GT fastback. Now all he needs is LED fog lamps, which Mustang Project says will be offered soon.
