We employed an electronic ignition on the engine dyno. While a points-style ignition would work equally well on this application, we had the electronic ignition at our disposal. Once on the dyno, the Boss 351 pumped out 383 hp at 6,100 rpm and 391 ft. lb. of torque at 4,000 rpm. Torque exceeded 375 ft. lb. from 3,300 rpm to 4,600 rpm.
