Even when warm, the upholstery can be tough to stretch over the frame. After many years of replacing upholstery, Merv came up with the idea of using Vise-Grip pliers designed for sheetmetal work. By using the flat grips to clamp the edge of the upholstery, Merv gets extra leverage to pull the upholstery over the frame. Hog rings secure the upholstery around the perimeter of the seat frame.
