The factory workmanship on the undercarriage includes an array of color codes, tags, and stickers. However, Perkins believes these color codes have been over-emphasized in restorations. First, restorations must earn their stripes with correct parts and finishes. Perkins said, “Anybody can buy a $200 kit of stickers and a box of Markal paint sticks to apply color codes to parts that don’t even look original or are incorrectly restored.” View Related Article
