If you're looking for something super trick for your EFI pushrod V-8, how about a coil-on plug conversion? The later V-8 Explorers used a 5.0L engine with a cam sensor in place of the distributor and a coil-near-plug setup. You'll have to use aftermarket engine management, but the look is worth it! David Stribling Restorations built this wild Boss 302 engine using 4.6L Mustang coils with custom brackets to hold them in place. The cam timing pickup is stock Explorer and the computer system is FAST XFI.
