The later V-8 Explorers used a 5.0L engine with a cam sensor in place of the distributor and a coil-near-plug setup. You'll have to use aftermarket engine management, but the look is worth it! David Stribling Restorations built this wild Boss 302 engine using 4.6L Mustang coils with custom brackets to hold them in place.
