In 1938, Vic Edelbrock, Sr. bought his first project car... a 1932 Ford roadster. This car was a turning point in Edelbrock history. It was Vic Sr.'s entry into the world of "hot rods" and it inspired the design and manufacture of the first Edelbrock manifold.

Today the Edelbrock Corporation has more than 600 employees and, since October 1994, has been a publicly traded company listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange (symbol: EDEL). Five locations, four in Torrance and the Foundry in San Jacinto, California, make up the Corporate facilities for a total of over 400,000 square feet.
The main offices include: engineering and testing; manufacturing; sales; tech support; warehouse; print shop; advertising and accounting. Less than a mile away, two locations house the Exhaust and Suspension Divisions. All Edelbrock exhaust systems and performance mufflers are designed and manufactured there with mandrel-tube benders, a laser cutter and robotic welders. Next door, Edelbrock shock absorbers are designed and manufactured using custom built equipment and state-of-the-art testing facilities. The Edelbrock Aluminum Foundry and QwikSilver division, where they manufacture carburetors for Harleys(R), dual-purpose and off-road motorcycles, are located in San Jacinto. The sand-cast foundry has been called "the most state-of-the-art foundry west of the Mississippi".
In October 1999, Edelbrock moved their warehouse into a new Distribution Center. All shipping and receiving operations were relocated to provide room for the expansion of their cylinder head, water pump and manifold manufacturing area at the main facility. Vic's Garage is located in the Distribution Center and houses the Company's collection of street rods and classic cars, as well as their extensive collection of historic photos and archives. Tours are available.
