Purchasing Dream Mustang Recognition Guide
Before The Buy
Recognition Guide
We have said this before but it still holds true: The Recognition Guide is the best bet for getting a good look at what the different models are and what they could have come with.
Purchasing Dream Mustang Value Guide
CPI Value Guide
As we have said before, knowing the average price of a car can save you serious bucks. The CPI value guide can give you all the info on all the basic Mustangs. Keep in mind, however, that if you are buying "one off" cars or limited production cars like the '66 Shelby notchback racers, the book really can't give you a good idea of value. This is because it takes averages from all the auctions, both high and low, to give an average value. Even so, the guide is pretty spot-on for what the cars are worth.
Purchasing Dream Mustang Shopping List
Shopping List
Knowing what you want, what you must have, and what you'd like on your dream Mustang is important. Make a list; it will help you stay on track when you're confronted with a great deal that is less (or more) than you wanted.
Purchasing Dream Mustang Facts Book
Illustrated Facts Books
The Illustrated Facts Books offer up info on what the cars could have come with. Get to know the car prior to seeing your first one. That way you'll know if the 1968 came factory-equipped with in-dash air (which it did) or that snazzy underdash unit that the owner says is a factory option.
Purchasing Dream Mustang Data Plate Decoder
At The Buy
Data Plate Decoder
This worn copy of the Mustang Data Plate Decoder has been on many buying expeditions with us. It is more accurate than our memory and handy when it comes to finding out if the Mustang is what it says.
